Wins for Finishing Touches at the 2020/2021 Micropigmentation UK Awards

July 20, 2021

It was a successful night for Finishing Touches at the 2020/2021 Micropigmentation UK Awards, with a first place award handed out to our head medical micropigmentation trainer and a special recognition to our CEO.

Micropigmentation UK was established by semi-permanent makeup specialists with the aim of raising the standards for professionals within the industry and annually celebrates talented artists in the industry.

Finishing Touches has been involved as supporters and sponsors of the Micropigmentation Awards every year since it started 5 years ago. This year we were especially proud to be sponsors and help celebrate the MPUK’20/21 Awards winners and finalists over Zoom. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the traditional live awards ceremony was cancelled in favour of a more intimate virtual celebration with the finalists, mentors and judges on Sunday 18th July 2021.

On the night, our head medical micropigmentation trainer, Kelly Forshaw received first place for the Medical Micropigmentation Award, given to the artist that demonstrates the most impressive work towards areola and nipple re-pigmentation and skin and scar camouflage. This award was specially recognised as this is Kelly’s fifth time winning the award.

“I am absolutely thrilled, grateful and darn right chuffed to hold my title (for 5 years now!) and win the Medical Micropigmentation Artist Award once again” said Kelly on receiving the award. “The Micropigmentation UK Award is the most creditable award that an artist could achieve, so I couldn't be happier. A huge congratulations to all the other finalists and big well done to my mother and CEO of Finishing Touches Group, Dawn Forshaw for receiving special recognition.”

“It was so lovely to catch up and see my fellow artists and friends on the Zoom Awards. Fingers crossed that next year's award ceremony will be in person where we can celebrate in person together!”

Alongside this, our founder and CEO, Dawn Forshaw received special recognition in the MPUK Awards.

But the celebrations still hadn't finished for Finishing Touches, as several of the finalists and nominees for awards are artists that we have trained and watched grow into talented individuals including Ruth Barron-Munns who won first place for Permanent Make-Up Artist of the Year (Under 2 Years). A huge congratulations to Ruth and all the other finalists and nominees!
